[FoCHAT] 2/22/07 The NO City Council Effectively Addresses RHP Problems

Dear FoCHAT Members,
   
  I just received hard copy of the resolution co-sponsored by Councilmen Arnie Fielkow and Oliver Thomas and unanimously passed by the New Orleans City Council that is a slight modification of CHAT's proposed Bill of Road Home Rights, which I sent to them. I will send the whole document when we find someone to type it so that it can be put in the body of an email to all of you.
   
  Among the notable words in their document are the preamble's statement "Whereas, at certain times, it is incumbant upon the government to remind itself of the duties it owes to its citizens.."
   
  and at the end that "this resolution will be sent as certified copies to Gov. Blanco, LRA Chairman Dr. Francis, Mayor Nagin, and the [LA cong.] delegation for their immediate attention and consideration."
   
  Any of you from St. Bernard Parish or Jefferson Parish who can contact the members of the respective Parish Councils, who are also considering CHAT's proposed Bill of Rights, please send an email with your email address and phone number in the body of the email and Bill of Rights in the subject to:
