I am told there is a drop box at the corps office on Leake Ave. They are clearing it out periodically and dropping them there is fine - according to Joe Bruno on WWL Radio...

Can we hand-deliver the complete two-page form to the Corps on Leake Avenue? I hope so.
This would not only be cheaper than Express Mailit would be easier to meet the way-too-soon deadline (by a full 24 hours or more). Depending upon where you're currently living and/or working, it might well be easier to get to the Corps office directly than to get to an operating Post Office at a time when the counter is open for business.
This should be an alternative; I know that J.P. Morrell had been visiting that Corps office periodically (weekly?) to hand-deliver Form 95s that folks had filed through his law office. Of course, getting past the checkpoint at the gate (or being assured that forms left with the personnel manning the gate) might be an issue.

Melanie, there was a report late yesterday that the previous forms are now acceptable; a judge ruled that they are okay. However, for those that have not filed a from, they need to still do so.
Judge rules those who have filed claim forms in Corps lawsuit don't have to re-file http://www.wwltv.com/local/stories/wwl022307khmrgolawsuit.6c3332a.html

The new forms which are (2) pages can be obtained and printed from the wwltv.com website. http://www.wwltv.com/suit1.pdf and http://www.wwltv.com/suit2.pdf
These forms must be mailed in by Wednesday, February 28, 2007.

If anyone is interested in signing on to the class action against the Corps, Murphy Law Firm has people in town today to do the paperwork. The deadline for filing was moved up yesterday, and the new deadline is Wednesday. If you want to find out more, call Nicole at 225 773 4206. All of the law firms involved, and there are many, are scrambling to comply with this latest effort of the corps to derail the suit.
