[FoCHAT] CHAT: Please make one phone call on Thursday for covering the shortfall

Dear Citizen Concerned about Louisiana's Fate,
   
  We think that our last campaign of outreach to the state legisltature has helped much.
   
  At the CHAT meeting this evening, it was decided that we now have a 1-day campaign to call Gov. Blanco and urge her to continue to push for a $1 billion contribution from the state towards the Road Home shortfall and not just a $0.7 billion contribution. This is very important because of the talk in Congress of a possible 1:4 match of Louisiana to Congressional funds. $0.7 billion from Louisiana is not enough. 
   
  Before the state legislative session ends in a few days, please call or fax the Governor' office on Thursday asking her to make a strong stand on the $1 billion coverage of the shortfall from the state and for her to publicly urge the State Legislature to put the money where it will do the most good in a one-time expenditure that will bring more money, reconstruction, and residents to the state.
