[FoCHAT] Tomorrow's CHAT Meeting Will Be Taped For COX10 TV; Save the date for building contracters' forum: Sat. afternoon, Mar. 29

Dear Friends of CHAT,
   
  1. Wed., 6:30 PM, for the fourth time, an entire CHAT will be filmed tomorrow by COX10 for TV viewing.
   
  George Blow, Producer of COX10 TV called me today and asked if we were having a particularly interesting meeting tomorrow evening. Indeed we are, with many important issues to discuss.

  Applicants for the Road Home Program are encouraged to attend. Please try to come at the beginning of the meeting because of the taping. We welcome as many 2-min descriptions of your Road Home experiences at the end of the meeting as time permits. Please do keep your description down to only the essential points and check your timing beforehand.
   
   
  2. On March 29, Saturday afternoon:    
  LouisianaREBUILDS and CHAT are cosponsoring a forum to provide information about building and maintaining houses, finding reliable contractors, possibly doing some of the building work yourself, and minimizing the chances of theft or unwarrented subcontractor liens. 
   
  More details will follow soon about this special event to help you cope with your home ownership and rebuilding after the hurricane-flood.
   
  It is being organized by Deborah Cotton, Editor--in-Chief of LouisianaREBUILDS;
   
  Randy Noel, LRA Housing Task Force member, President of Reve, Inc.,   President of the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council (LSUCCC) Past President of the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans and of the Louisiana State Home Builders Association; 
   
  and includes input from CHAT. 
   
   


    We hope for a large turnout given that LouisianaREBUILDS, which is partnering with CHAT, has over 8000 subscribers and CHAT now has almost 700 members of our email network. In addition, we will be publicizing this event to New Orleans yahoo groups. Anyone who want to help publicizing it to other groups once the details are decided, please contact me.
   
  This will be a non-commercial forum but handouts with contractor contact information from LouisianaREBUILDS contractor list will be made available. 
   
  So please tell your friends and neighbors to rate their contractors, electricians, gardeners, plumbers, home security companies, etc. at:
