FoCHAT Members,

Newcomers are welcome to our biweekly CHAT meeting that will be held tomorrow evening.

Time: Meetings on Wed. at 6:30 PM at UNO, usually every other week

Place: Room 179, UNO Old Business Administration building, on Milneburg Rd. (the road where the brand new dorms are, past the stop sign and the University Center and opposite the Fitness Center.
Building #7: Directions to the Business Bldg are given on the Campus Map for UNO http://www.uno.edu/university/maps/maincamp.asp

NEXT MEETING Wed., July 30.

The LRA Bd. meets begins tomorrow morning. The public is allowed by law to make comments for 3 min. Comments are scheduled for the end of the Housing section. You may read them or speak ad lib. They should be polite and nonredundant and can be on any aspect of the Road Home (RH) or the one RH reform bill that survived misleading facts from OCD-LRA to become law, SB 755. It faces an involved pathway to actually take effect, as explained in previous FoCHAT messages and summarized at our website http://chatushome.com .

Note the reference to individual mitigation measures below. That was the $7500 per qualified rebuilding applicant for storm shutters, raising air-conditioning etc. The RH policy book had mention of that grant category deleted in the latest version but it might come from the HMGP money, that $1.2- 1.4 billion fund which was promised by the last administration to RH applicants alone for house elevation and individual mitigation measures but which has been partly disappearing to other, non-RH uses in 2008.
